The Liquid Body

"I wanted to contact Andrew Comley to say a massive thank you! He completely changed the movement I have in my back after just one massage. He was so professional and obviously extremely experienced. It was so refreshing to meet someone who was so down to earth and knowledgeable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who has any aches or pains. As a self employed Engineer my day to day life was really impacted by my back pain and now I feel like a new man. Thanks again Andrew."

Muscle tension.
Muscles are happy when they are allowed to maintain a slight tension that we call tone, but more tension will cause pain, and eventually the body will make the muscles more fibrous to help them do their job. This adverse tension may be caused by semi-conscious tightening of the muscles due to stress or habit. or it could be due to poor posture causing bones to hang on muscles, or joints to be held in a flexed or extended position. Two areas prone to this issue are the shoulders, and in the muscles of the jaw or eyes. In order to save yourself some pain, try to make a conscious effort to monitor tension in these muscles, and when you find it, relax it. This might be a case of just letting the tension go, maybe on an out breath, but in the case of the shoulders, this might counterintuitively mean lifting the shoulders to increase tone but relieve tension. If that doesn’t work, or you need advice, book in with Andy for a massage and a check on your posture.
